Austin's Strong Local Economy-First Place!

Again, I can't write about Austin's booming economy too much! Here is some incredible news for our great city according to the Austin Business Journal:

 

"Austin remains the top-rated metropolitan area in the On Numbers Economic Index for April, which means it has the strongest local economy in the United States.

 

Texas dominated the top five spots. Dallas-Fort Worth took No. 3, followed by Houston and Oklahoma City. Austin has held first place since February! Austin Community Activities...Fun for Dads!

While there are seemingly endless fun activities for moms and children across Austin communities, there are very few for the Dads! I'm happy to report one central Texas community that gives the men what they want! 'Dads in the Hood' a fun social gathering for fathers and sons in River Place, located off 2222 near 620. This is a fun tradition that has been going on for years and brings large crowds from all over the neighborhood! I drove by the event this weekend, and I saw tent after tent all located at Sun Tree Park! All the men and boys looked like they were having a blast...and with Austin weather this time of year, it was the perfect outdoor scene!

River Place community is very family friendly master-planned community with two parks, playgrounds, soccer fields and highly acclaimed schools located within minutes! Wanting Lake Life without the far distance? Look no further--there are many newly-built high-end homes located on the lake just at the bottom of Big View Drive! It also has it's own fully equipped country club with tennis, golf, swimming, fitness and a grill! One more reason to check out this neighborhood is that the country club is getting a fresh new renovation that has already started this Spring! No big surprise, but Austin is booming yet again! New resale listings in Central Texas are showing an increase of 2.3% and sales pending are also up! As you would expect, the value for homes have also increased (median sales prices showing an increase of 7.9%) and inventory is down--especially for homes under $500,000! Great news for all of you home owners thinking of selling...because NOW is the time!

While it is not news that Spring is the time to sell, THIS YEAR has proven that! The MLS is also showing that days on market are down 21% to 65 days!

It cannot be over stated that Austin is the place to be...and like it or not...the word is out! New buyers are coming to Austin from all over the state, country and even internationally! This Spring is proving to be a great season for the Central Texas Real Estate market.
